Steven P. Mccoy

Steven Paul McCoy, 62, of Cincinnati, Ohio departed this life on Thursday, May 5, 2022. He was born on November 10, 1959 to the union of William J. McCoy and Marquerite L. McCoy. Steven was the third of five children: John, Douglass, Monica, and Marissa. He attended St. Agnes Elementary School and graduated Purcell Marion High School. At age 14, Steven had heart surgery to mend a hole in his heart. Still, he ran track, played football and broke a State record! Even with his accomplishments in sports, Art was his passion. Steven went on to attend the Art Academy of Cincinnati, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree. Steven married the love of his life, Doris (Chambers), on March 28, 1987. To this union, he had two daughters: Kalasia and Katanina. He loved his girls with every bit of his heart. Steven could be spotted coaching them in track. He was an avid participant in their daily lives. He loved the simple things in life, such as Art, family, camping, fishing, hiking, jazz, flying kites, sports, his beloved Bengals, and helping youth explore their artistic side. Steven began substituting for the Cincinnati Public Schools where he loved teaching various subjects. He would often travel with his nieces to track meets with the Cincinnati All-Stars. Steven made sure to attend events with his great-nieces and great-nephews—track, soccer, basketball, and even musicals. He was supportive of everyone. Steven made sure to show his support for the family, as he truly understood that family is important in this world. He was the glue of our family and will be truly missed. Steven leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Doris; daughter, Katanina; brothers, John (fiancé Carla), and Doug (Ann); sisters, Monica and Marissa; great-aunt, Neomi; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family, and friends. He was preceded in life by his daughter, Kalaisa; and parents, William and Marquerite McCoy. Arrangements entrusted to the caring hands of KINLEY Funeral Home & Arrangement Center.
