Allan David Rucker

Allan David Rucker, 80, of Springfield, Ohio peacefully fell asleep in death on Friday, May 8, 2020. He was the firstborn son to the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Kenerly) Rucker, Sr. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 58 years, Jane Ann (Duncan) Rucker. Allan was a faithful and dedicated Jehovah’s Witness and he served as a ministerial servant at the Springfield West Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for many years. Allan and Jane Ann shared the joy of having seven children together: Leeza Ann, Kelley Leigh, Todd Allan, Timothy Allan, Camille Estelle, and Joseph Allan and he will be sorely missed by each of them. Allan was preceded in death by his firstborn son, David Allan in August 2019. He will be remembered forever by his 16 grandchildren who affectionately referred to him as “PaPa”. Allan will also be missed by one of his best friends, his younger brother, Alfred Rucker, Jr. of Detroit, Michigan. He also leaves in his memory his dear friend, George “Skip” Jackson of Urbana, Ohio. Allan was a hardworking, loyal, honest man who touched the lives of so many of his friends and family over the years. The Allan Rucker family would like to give a special thanks to his physician and a friend of the family, Dr. Stephen Oehlers who carefully looked after Allan and his family for many years. A very special thanks to his hospice nurse, Lauren, and the entire staff at Hospice of Dayton, as they collectively provided him with nothing but the best care down to the very end of his life. A Memorial service for Allan will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. and will be available for his friends and family to view through YouTube with Brother Fred Richardson officiating.
