Allen Carlton 'Junebug' Humphrey, Jr., 68, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020. He was born February 12, 1951 in Springfield, Ohio a son of Allen Humphrey, Sr. and Janet Mae (Carter) Banta. He loved to dance. Allen was a great dancer. At a very early age Allen exhibited signs that he indeed could have become a professional dancer. His mother (aka "Johnny Mae") spoke to him about going on the Rising Generation Show. Allen also loved to skate and was an avid skater. He would go skating with his sister weekly in Urbana, Ohio. Lets not forget his love for playing cards with his best friends George, Steve, Keith and several other friends. Allen also loved to eat and boy could he eat. He couldnt wait for his best friends George and Steve to drop by and take him out to dinner or just sit a while and talk about the old days. Allen was a member of the Springfield branch of the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research until health issues prevented him from attending. He last attended class about six months ago and loved talking about the Gospel. He is survived by his son, Allen (Mandy) Moore; grandchildren, Chantelle Speaks, Adrian Moore, Vyron Sims, Bryanna Moore, and Jadyn Moore; great-grandson, Adrian Moore, Jr.; sisters, LaVonda (Andrew) Jordan, Toya Clark, Sonya (Robert) Howard, Robin Avery, and Yvette Avery; brothers, Eric Humphrey, Teraund Humphrey and Derick Humphrey; best friend, George Welliford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Allen was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents, Corla Lee Humphrey, and Herschel and Sena Carter. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research, 308 Montgomery Ave, Springfield, Ohio 45506. Burial: Ferncliff Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of KINLEY Funeral Home.
