Andre "Dray" Robinson, 53, of Springfield, Ohio gained his wings peacefully Tuesday, July 25, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Springfield on April 10, 1970 to Idella Strickland (Robinson) and James Burks.
Andre was a loving and devoted son, husband, papaw, and brother. He was a successful entrepreneur of Dray’s Carryout for 20 years. Dray loved hunting and playing bid whiz while getting the family together especially for family reunions.
Andre’s precious memory will be cherished by his wife of 24 years, Valerie Robinson (Suttles); their children: sons, Chad (Tameka) Robinson and Zi’Mear Robinson, and daughter, Ayana (De’Michael) Robinson; grandchildren: Ca’Miah, Chandlor, Anaya, Chad, Jr., and A’Layah; brothers, James ”Bam” Johnson, Jermaine Burks, and Joseph Robinson; sisters: Deloris Lewis, Sheila (John) Lewis, Richelle Robinson, and De’Andrea (Theodore) Robinson; a very special godmother, Wanda Bennett; special uncle, William Robinson; special friend, Gary Gilbert; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Idella Strickland (Robinson); father, James Burks; and grandparents, James and Annette Burks, and Rosa Robinson.
Andre will be sadly missed; however, we know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. The family would like to thank you all for the love and support. A special thank you to Select Specialty Care and Ohio Hospice for the great care that they provided; as well as, Kinley Funeral Home and St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 34 West Pleasant St, Springfield, Ohio 45506 (enter on Mulberry Street side). Interment: Ferncliff Cemetery.
