Angela Y. Applin

Today we come together to celebrate the life of Angela Yolanda Applin, 50, of Springfield, Ohio, whose spirit departed from us on Friday, December 27, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Springfield on January 19, 1974 to Larry Applin and the late Barbara Morgan.

Angie attended Springfield South High School where she was a member of the band. That girl stayed singing and dancing. She spent most of her adult life employed by automotive manufacturers. Angie finally landed a job at Topre, working her way up to lead supervisor while enduring chemotherapy and multiple doctor's appointments. She would have worked 60-plus hours a week until her last day if the company allowed it. There were many times family and friends would call to offer help only to find out she had already cut her own grass or drove herself to radiation or chemotherapy treatments. Even though her diagnosis did not have a favorable outcome, she still planned and goals set for 2025. She mentioned that if she was not able see the new year, she wanted to at least make it to Christmas which is her favorite holiday. She certainly got her wish. God heard her prayers.

Angela leaves to cherish her memory: son, Tyrus Lambert; daughter, Shakira Hutchins; sisters, Rhonda Stone and Malissa Ferguson; brother, Marquis Applin; bonus brother, Brenan Parke; bonus sister, Cherish Jackson; long-time friends, Emily Hale and Crystal Beverly; and a host of friends and family.

We want to give a special thanks to Ryan Ray and his wife, Britley; nurses, Ashley and Joseph from Springfield Regional, all nurses from Springfield Cancer Center, and staff at Ohio's Hospice.....big hugs, you guys rocked. Additional thanks to all who loved on and prayed over our beloved sister. Fight is what she did and proud is what we are. Angie you are forever in our hearts!

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial service at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Second Baptist Church, 615 S Wittenberg Ave, Springfield, OH 45506.
