Ann Thomason

Ann Wilkes-Roe Thomason, 68, of Huber Heights, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 surrounded by family. She struggled for many years with heart disease and diabetes since the age of 19. Ann was born August 11, 1952 to the union of Bill and Evelyn Wilkes in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Ann graduated in 1970 from Lee High school in Huntsville, Alabama, then went on to study English Literature at Florence University. She is now with the love of her life who came to pick her up for their most important date. Ann met her sweetheart, Dan Thomason, at a PWP (Parents Without Partners) meeting and they hit it off from the start. Their first date was out at his camper at Cowan Lake where they learned they both loved camping and shared lots of laughs with each other. As they say, the rest was history. After a few years of dating, they married on February 26, 1994. Living together in Kettering, Ohio before eventually moving back to Huber Heights where she would stay until the end. Ann lost Dan in 2011, when he succumbed to cancer. She lived in Huber Heights with her longtime companion, Jaime Gehrich, where they helped take care of each other and Ann’s dogs. She loved animals and had 2-3 dogs at all times. Ann also loved to read, scrapbook, stamp and of course, loved to cook. She loved watching true crime shows and you could always find her watching something on one of her favorite channels. Ann leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Stacy (Kenyon) Woods; son, Cary (Jessica) Roe; granddaughters, Amelia Foran and Sophia Roe; bonus daughters, Nicky (Dana) Wysong; Shelly (Brian) Philpot along with their two sons, Jake and Josh; the family of Jaime Gehrich; and countless childhood friends and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the care of KINLEY Funeral Home.
