Annie Jean Riley

September 16, 1950 — November 7, 2024

Annie Jean Riley, 74, of California (formerly of Springfield, Ohio), passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024. She was born in Cartersville, Georgia on September 16, 1950 to Rufus Weaver, Sr. and Opal Ann Beasley, the third of seven siblings. They moved to Springfield, Ohio when they were younger.


She graduated from South High School in Springfield. Annie then met William Riley whom she married and raised a loving family. She retired from I.O.O.F Home where she was a nursing secretary. Annie loved the Lord. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church and served in finance until she was unable to continue. Annie moved to California in 2018 where she worshiped at The Way World Outreach Church. She enjoyed the rest of her days spending time with great-grandchildren, shopping, traveling, and visiting every casino along the way. Annie was a quiet, gentle, giving soul and will be missed tremendously.


Annie leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters, Hope (Harold) Moore of Highland, California, Cherie (Jimmy) Robinson, and Felicia King (Torrance Johnson); grandchildren: Whitney (Alex) Delrio, Brandi Burks, Carissa Neal, Maurice Riley, Malik Riley, and Feona Anabila; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Weaver, and Cynthia Crowe; brother-in-law, Louis Cornelius; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 43 years, William Riley; brothers, John Weaver, and Rufus Weaver; and sisters, Janis Powell, and Diana Cornelius.


Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024 at Covenant United Methodist Church, 529 West State St., Springfield, Ohio 45506. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024 in Dayton National Cemetery.
