Arthur Michael Flournoy, 72, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on December 1, 2021. He was born June 10, 1949, in Springfield, Ohio a son of Gwendolyn Mae (Brown) and Mark William Flournoy. Arthur enjoyed writing poetry, reading, and dancing. He was very community service oriented, organized the Neighborhood Youth Corps, Center Street YMCA and organized the Springfield Black Beauty Pageant. Arthur had the privilege of meeting Dick Gregory and Muhammad Ali. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Dianna L. Flournoy; children, Janeen (Dewayne) Ellington, Aaron Flournoy and Monte Flournoy; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; special grandson, DeAndre Ellington; sisters, Shelia Applin, Priscilla Williams and Cyrena Holtz and a special nephew, Jacob Applin. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stanley Eugene Johnson; and sister, Donna Clegg. Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM with service to begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 34 W.
