Birda Mae Peterson

Birda Mae (Applin) Peterson, 63, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born December 4, 1955 in Springfield, Ohio to the late William and Beautine Applin. She was a member of the St. Luke Mass Choir and Jack and Adas family choir. Birda was employed for 31 years at Southbrook Nursing Facility in the dietary department, where she later retired in March of 2017. Birda leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Marshall J. Peterson; son, Aaron Jay Applin; four step-children, Qeesha Tillman of North Carolina, DVonte Peterson of North Carolina, Melinda Peterson of Georgia, and Kiah Dabney of Georgia; four brothers, Melvin (Colleen), Kerry, Marshall (Diantha), and Clarence; one sister, Mary Ada; two sister-in-laws, DVita (Frank) Franklin and Robin Walker; brother-in-law, Tyron Peterson; and a special mother-in-law, Shirley Turner; seven step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three siblings, Patricia, Freddie and Brenda. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Restored Life Ministries, 1117 Innisfallen Ave, Springfield, Ohio 45506 with a Celebration of Life beginning at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the Jerry W.
