Bobbie W. Hasberry

February 4, 1963 — November 14, 2022

Bobbie Wayne Hasberry, 59, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Monday, November 14, 2022. Affectionately known as “Big Bob,” he was born on February 4, 1963 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Willie C. (Jones) Hasberry and Elijah Hasberry.

His family relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio when Bobbie was just four years old. He was educated in the Cincinnati Public School District. Later Bobbie was led into a life of interesting occupations ranging from: The Montgomery Inn, Construction work, the Water Company and finally The Cincinnati Enquirer where he retired after 20 plus years of service.

Bobbie met the love of his life, Beverly Bridges, and the two were married in 1999. To this union one child was born, Paige Marie Hasberry.

He was the baby sitter for his sisters and they knew he would keep them safe but not clean. That was never part of the deal. He had an art of ducking sides between his sister’s fights and at the time he would become "Bennett and not be in it".

Bobbie was adamant about not serving in the military. His mantra was, “hell no, I won’t go!” But he was front and center when it came to supporting his two nephews and one great-nephew who served. We all will remember “Big Bob” for the special ways he made a difference and touched our lives. The only way to live forever is to never be forgotten.

Bobbie leaves to cherish his memory: his loving daughter, Paige Hasberry; sister, Linda Miller Harrison of Cincinnati; brother from previous relationship, Elijah Hasberry, Jr. of Alabama; aunts, Bettie (Willie) Montgomery of Birmingham, Alabama, Classie Carr and Catherine Merriweather of Cincinnati, Ohio; six nephews and two nieces; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Beverly (Bridges) Hasberry; and sister, Addie Chappell.

Story from Linda Jones Miller: "I remember telling Bobbie on the greyhound on our way to Cincinnati to "Wipe your face and pull up your pants. You're a big boy now. You go this." I wish I could tell him now."

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2022 at James Temple Church of God in Christ (Annex Chapel), 1119 Lincoln Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206. Interment: Spring Grove Cemetery
