Brook E. Wilkerson

March 19, 1961 — January 7, 2022

Brook Elaine Wilkerson, 60, of Springfield, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on January 7, 2022. She was born March 19, 1961 and was the daughter of Jesse L. and Rebecca W. (Robinson) Wilkerson. Brook was a devoted Sister, Aunt, Great Aunt, Cousin, Church Member, and was a Foster Mother for many years. She was a graduate of Springfield South High School and Clark County Joint Vocational School. Brook was a member of the Church of God, 315 South Kensington Place, Springfield, Ohio where she served on the decorating committee, housekeeping staff and also was a server during fellowship meetings and special events. Although Brook had some physical difficulties, she never shied away from the opportunity to work and help out in the church. Brook enjoyed attending service, music and singing, children, Cato hopping, and online shopping. Seeing packages delivered to her door was the highlight of her day. Before her illness, Brook was employed by Buckeye Ranch, worked as a nurse’s aide, and a youth advisor. After running from the Lord for many years God convicted Brook’s heart in a definite way. Living in Newnan, Georgia, Brook called her Aunt Cindy and said, “Come and get me.” After returning to Springfield, she began attending services and finally turned her life over to the Lord. From that day unto the end, Brook was a new creature in Christ Jesus. The change was miraculous. Brook leaves to cherish her memory: one brother, Jeffrey M. Wilkerson of Riverdale, GA; two sisters, Leah S. Wilkerson of Columbus, OH and Yolanda F. Wilkerson of Springfield, OH; nephews, Kamaron M. Ferrell, Jordyn L. Wilkerson, Shawn Burns, and Aaron Burns; nieces, Kimyah L. Wilkerson, Monaco J. Wilkerson, and Kenya Burns; great-nephew, KaVahn M. Ferrell; great-nieces, Arieyon S. Ferrell and Vonnae’ A. Ferrell; uncle, Timothy (Katherine) Robinson; aunts, Faith L. Fletcher, Juanita Robinson, Karen Robinson, Louise Adams, and Betty Gillium; special cousin, David Payne, Sr.; special friends, Shawn and Janie (Kenerly) Edwards, Kristi Payne, Marjorie Sallee, and David and Darlene Creel; beloved friend, Nancy Bethel; birthday twins, Carl Kenerly, Jr., Michael Kenerly, and Esther Nowell; caregiver, Sherie Andrews; foster daughter, Tajuana Hall; church family and a host of other relatives, saints and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; brother, Jesse A. Wilkerson; niece, Kortni M. Ferrell; uncles, William Robinson, Jr., Benjamin Robinson, Sr., and Donald Matthews. Brook will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Her church family will miss her lively spirit during the services. We are sure that when she arrived in Heaven she exclaimed, “Woo woo!! It’s beautiful!! I made it.!! Now Saints, you keep running.” Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Church of God, 315 South Kensington Place, Springfield, Ohio 45503. Interment: Ferncliff Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of KINLEY Funeral Home.
