Bruce Wayne Linson, Sr.

Bruce Wayne Linson, Sr., 62, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020. He was born September 24, 1957 to John Taylor and Barbara Linson Andrews in Sikeston, Missouri. The family later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. They lived in Woodlawn where Bruce attended school and graduated from the Princeton School District. Bruce dedicated his life to Jehovah at an early age. He met and married Linda K. Denton. Linda gave birth to their only son, Bruce Wayne Linson, Jr., affectionately known as Butchie. Anyone who knew Bruce knew he was a perfectionist. He had a certain swag about himself that was not pretentious. It was just him. He carried himself like he owned something. If he considered you a friend, you were a friend for life. Bruce was kind and loving most of the time. He loved his family: his mom, brothers, sister, son and grandchildren, and he wanted to be the best grandfather he could be. He may have had many struggles in life, but he kept trying. Bruce leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Bruce, Jr.; grandchildren, Jalen D. Linson and Janiah N. Linson; mother, Barbara Linson Andrews; brothers, Tassie John Andrews and Thomas Andrews; sister, Belinda Y. Lucky; brothers, Jerald, Robert, Paul, Carl and Andre’ Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John Taylor; grandmother, Sadie M. Linson; brother, Gregory Andrews; and step-father, Tassie Andrews, Sr. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at James Temple Annex, 1119 Lincoln Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45206. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2020 in the Crown Hill Cemetery, 11825 Pippin Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45231. NOTE: Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Ohio Governor and our city officials have set guidelines and procedures to follow during public gatherings of funeral services. These restrictions have been arranged with the family. Please allow the family to have their private time during the services being held at 11:00 a.m. A larger gathering may be held at a future date (to be announced) at the discretion of the family.
