Carl Eugene Baker, Jr., 42, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020. He was born August 1, 1978 in Springfield, a son of Carl E. Baker, Sr. and Scarlet (Humphrey) Miller. He attended Clark State Community College where his studies included: Chemical Dependency, Criminal Justice, and he received his CDL A and B Certifications as a truck driver. Carl was an awesome son, father, and friend who loved fishing, DJing and absolutely enjoyed “old school” music from which he came up with the name “D.J. Ohio King of Old School”. Carl’s love for helping people inspired him to open a new non-profit, The New South Food Pantry, and he had just received 501(3) status. Carl leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Scarlet (Humphrey) Miller; grandmother, Joyce Walker; children, Rashondia (Zachery) Baker, Mika Farrell, Myreisha Baker, Katayvon Lane, and Tah’Kyan Baker; brother, Jeffrey (Shelly) Humphrey of London, Ohio; sister, Kartina Owens; aunts and uncles, Valerie (Okie) Moore, Sherri (Dewayne) Smith, Toieka Thomas, Sonya (Charles) Martin, Micheal (Rodney) Anderson, Rufus Humphrey, Denise Baker, Annette Baker, and Larry Baker; fiancée, Guyia Wilson, and her children, GeMiah Wilson, GeLaya Wilson-May and Germaine Wilson-May; stepchildren, Krystoffer Moore, Jeffery Moore, Karrington Moore, and Joseph Moore; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and sons, Carl E. Baker III and Alaijah Najah Baker. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in the Kinley Funeral Home Chapel, 1307 East High Street, Springfield, Ohio 45505.
