Carl H. Stegall was born on July 26, 1940 in Springfield, Ohio and passed July 6, 2020 in Hospice care at his Springfield home from metastatic lung cancer. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1958. Working outdoors was his interest so he attended the University of Montana in Missoula. In 1962 he graduated with a BS degree in Forestry. He then began his first career working for the U.S. Forest Service in California and Arizona. While living in Phoenix, Arizona, he earned a Masters of Global Management at the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Thunderbird was founded by President Theodora Roosevelt and is ranked the number one school in its field attracting students from across the globe. He used this new knowledge for a second career in finance working as a broker for Coldwell Banker in San Francisco, CA. Another of his careers was in the Army National Guard trained as a medic during the Vietnam War. Carl was a very smart guy! He was an avid reader and had many interests especially history and politics. He also enjoyed working with dogs and horses as well as hunting and shooting sports. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and supported the American Farm Bureau Federation. Carl is the son of deceased parents, Willie E. Stegall and Irene Crisp Stegall. He is survived by his sister, Janice Kreider (James) of Dublin, OH, two nephews, Scott Halsey (Kimberly) (great niece, Emma Kate and great nephew, Henry) of Greensboro NC and Jason Halsey (Kimberly) of Dublin, OH. There will be a private memorial gathering given by his sister in Dublin, OH on what would have been Carl’s 80th birthday. Arrangements entrusted to the care of KINLEY Funeral Home.
