Charles Emery Coleman, Sr.

Charles Emery Coleman Sr., 45, of Springfield went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2018. Charles was born October 4, 1972 in Springfield, Ohio to Jeannette Coleman and Charles Palmer. He had a love for cars and later opened his own car lot. Charles had an infectious laugh, big heart, and selfless spirit. Charles will forever be cherished by his loving wife, LaToya Coleman; daughters, Lysandra (Evan) Smith, Kimberly (Daniel Scott) Coleman, Chaselynn Coleman; sons, Charles Coleman Jr., Christopher Coleman, Quinton (Nahanni Scott) Coleman, and Colyn Coleman; stepchildren, Leslie, Bryce, and Jayden Kidd; sisters, Kelli (Damon Woodall) Coleman and Shawna Dunbar; brothers, Derrick Palmer, Darryl Palmer, and Ronald (Theresa) Dunbar; father, Charles (Margaret) Palmer; grandchildren Zaiden, Grace, Charles III, Daniel, Adelyn, Christina, Christian and Kailand. A host of godchildren, aunts, uncle, nieces, and nephews; mother and father-in-law, Roxanne Taylor and Truman (Lenore Carter) Harris. Special friends, Donald Williams, Jamie and Robert Smith, Quincy and DJ Stillgess, David McWhorter, Derrick Weaver, Clayton DeArmond, and Leon Lash. Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Jeannette Coleman, grandparents, Emery and Melvina Coleman, and William & Mamie Palmer; brother, Brian Woodson. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. in Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Arrangements entrusted to the Jerry W. Kinley Funeral Home.
