Cherelle Detrece Spencer, 35, of Cincinnati, Ohio departed this life on Sunday, March 26, 2023. She was born on December 11, 1987 to Doug and Lisa Spencer.
Known to her parents as Lil Sista, Cherelle came into this world smiling and eyes wide open. Her sense of humor was enormous, she absolutely loved to laugh. Cherelle also had a passion for cooking and music—from preparing a holiday meal with cousin Amari to just making the evening dinner, Cherelle would really go in, in the kitchen. She'd often call family and friends to come over and get a plate, or say Daddy come and get you and Mama a plate. Her kindred spirit even led her to feed some in her apartment complex, where she began to be known as the young lady that can cook.
Cherelle had a deep love of family, even combining her namesakes Spencer/Bennett into Spennett. She believed in fellowship, whether a small gathering or an entire reunion. She was quite protective, especially of her Mom and Dad. God gifted Lil Sista musically, as from a young age she would imitate various artists in song and dance. So much so, that one day her parents realized "This girl can sing". She harmonized with no formal training and even sung in the church choir at a young age. On occasion, even filled in with her dad's band. From acting out movie scenes to hitting the dance floor to the band stage, this social butterfly would light up the room, and laugh out loud while teasing her dad.
Educated through the Zion Temple Christian Academy and Finneytown School District, Cherelle's bright personality blossomed, as she made some lifelong friends. Even in challenging health, she tried to feed and encourage other residents, telling them of God's goodness.
