Clara E. Shack

November 29, 1941 — September 6, 2023

Late Wednesday afternoon, September 6, 2023, Jesus called his humble servant, Clara Eleanor Shack, home to be with the lord. She was 81 years old. Clara was born in Davistown, Kentucky on November 29, 1941, and was the tenth child to the union of William and Madeline Weathers.


When she was 19 years old, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she met and married the love of her life, the late William E. Shack on November 23rd, 1963. They had a wonderful marriage for 54 blessed years, resulting in 7 wonderful children.


Throughout the marriage, they loved and took great care of each other. They became inseparable and spent a lot of quality time together. They especially loved taking joyrides and spoiling their grandchildren.


From an early age, Clara had a special relationship with the lord. She would walk the dark roads of Kentucky alone just to hear the word. Later in life, she became a faithful member of Christ Temple COGIC in Hamilton. She wore many hats including missionary, Mother’s Board, Treasurer and Sunday School teacher. She was a beloved member who love and impacted many lives in a positive way.


Clara had a joyful smile and laugh that could brighten any room. She will be remembered as a kind, loving and gentle soul that touched many lives and will be missed by many.


Mother Shack was preceded in death by her husband, William Shack, two grandchildren, Miah Shack and Richie Watkins, and her siblings, James Weathers, Nannie B Caldwell, Ceola Reed, Glencia Walker, William Weathers, Ismaline Carpenter, Ann Tracy, Bennett Weathers and Louis Weathers.


She leaves to cherish her memory 7 children, Madeline Weathers, Keith Shack, LaWayne Shack, Kimberly Shack, Angela Shack, Tori Shack and Mark Shack. 12 grandchildren, Jared, Khalil, Jayla, Armon, Kamiah, Xavier, Jayvon, Jamel, Savanah, Brooke, Nikki, Noah. 2 great-grandchildren, Kenzie and Kingsten and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.


Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until the time of Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Christ Temple C.O.G.I.C, 577 S. 2nd Street, Hamilton, Ohio 45011. Interment: SpringGrove Cemetery
