Correna Ann (Scott) Moore-Sims, 83, of Springfield, Ohio entered into peace on Friday, January 29, 2021. She was born on October 9, 1937 in Mechanicsburg, Ohio to the Reverend Herman Leon Scott and Madge Lenora (Craddolph) Scott. She spent 23 years devoted to caring for the residents of Springview Developmental Center in Springfield, Ohio. Correna loved to reminisce about the country life she was raised up in, as well as, collecting memorabilia that reminded her of her childhood. She was the matriarch of practical jokes, had an amazing sense of humor, and a fiery personality. Correna also modeled what it meant to be a truly independent woman. She left a lasting, loving impression on all those who knew her. Correna leaves behind a prolific legacy consisting of her children: Catherine Lenora Moore, William Wesley (Blanche) Moore, Benjamin Jeffrey (Netha) Moore, Gary Lynn (Lesabre) Moore, Aretha Ann (Marques Harris) Sims, and Arnold “Frankie” (Joni Bentley) Sims; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a loving sister-in-law and friend, Dorothy Scott; devoted friends, Doris Rogan, Ronald Knox, Diane Howard, and Marcia Hiles; sister-in-law, Judy Scott; beloved pet cockatiel, Jack; former spouse, Arnold Frank Sims; and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Ruby Darlene Sims; twin brother, Charles (Marcella) Scott; sisters, Ada (Arthur) Jones, Lillian (Robert) Schaffer, and Cora Scott; older brothers, Carl (Martha Lou) Scott, Manuel (Betty) Scott, Albert (Dorothy) Scott, and Daniel (Judy) Scott; first husband and confidant, William D. “Bill” Moore, with whom she maintained a close friendship; and infant grandson, Jimmy Rene Moore. Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. and is open to the public. The family requests that at the time of service beginning at 1:00 p.m., those that have not been designated to remain to please allow the family their private time. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in the Kinley Funeral Home Chapel, 1307 East High St, Springfield, Ohio 45505.
