David M. Johnson

David Michael Johnson, 56, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 27,1966 to Robert L. and Dorothy L. Johnson. He was the youngest of two children.

David accepted Christ at an early age and grew up at Second Trinity Baptist Church. He loved to sing and was an active member of the choir and usher board. David loved learning and, after high school, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from University of Cincinnati and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Finance degree from Howard University. He continued his professional development by participating in an Emerging Leaders Program and obtaining a Project Management Professional certificate.

David was a private person who enjoyed playing golf, tennis, traveling and attending different sporting events. He wasn’t afraid to take chances in his career which resulted in him moving to different parts of the United States. On December 13, 2003, David became a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, Beta Sigma Lambda grad chapter in Hartford, Connecticut. He was part of the Gamma Eta Lambda chapter executive board in Austin, Texas and most recently was active in the Eta Lambda chapter in Atlanta, Georgia.

David leaves to cherish his memory: his sister/cousin, Lawren Nunn (Samuel); aunts: Mary Gladden (Henry), Janice Mason, Patricia Qualls, and Wanda Taylor-Smith (Robert Jr.); uncle, Sam Grace; cousins: Guylene and Stuart Grace, Erica and Guy (Shannon) Gladden, Kiva Lapore, and Michelle Mason; and a host of other loved ones and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Sr. and Dorothy Johnson; brother, Robert L. Johnson, Jr.; grandparents, Ruby Patterson, Martha and Paul Mason; and many other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of Funeral service at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023 in the Spring Grove Cemetery (Cedar Chapel), 4521 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
