Diane L. Walker

Diane Lynn Walker, 69, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Monday, December 2, 2024. She was born December 12, 1954, to her late parents Mondale Hearn and Edna Howell.

Young in their marriage, Levi and Diane answered their calling by opening their home to the local foster care system. Their journey of nurturing at-risk children paid dividends, as Diane was quickly recognized as today’s equivalent “Golden Heart Recipient,” which awards the work of caregivers and their families.

Many of the children spanning four decades consider Levi and Diane as inspirational paternal and maternal figures, including Adriene, Christopher, Charlotte, Caprice, Ricardo, Wayne, Stephanie, William and Julius.

Diane enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to music, cooking and traveling. She was always full of energy and humor, and if you knew Diane, she loved to celebrate! She will truly be missed and celebrated by the many lives she impacted and leaves to mourn a host of dear family and friends.

Diane was preceded in transition by her eldest sister, Dolores Powers, and is survived by her loving husband, Levi Walker (married July 1971); children: Terry, Terrell, Michael, Leesha, and Stephanie Walker; beloved grandchildren: Tiera Lashay Walker, Tyra and Marcea Harrow, and Terrell Walker, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Majesty and Messiah Shelton, along with Kai Ulmer; siblings: Richard, Debbie, Patricia, Mary Ellen, Shirley, Clarence (Sonny), P. Ann, and Princess.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Celebration of Life at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at James Temple C.O.G.I.C, 1116 Lincoln Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45206. Interment: St. Joseph New Cemetery, 4500 Foley Road, Cincinnati, OH 45238.
