Donald Lee Garrett, Sr.

Donald Lee Garrett, Sr., 52, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018. The son of the late Robert Leon Garrett and Rose Scott, he was born on May 7, 1966 in Dayton, Ohio. He was an entrepreneur, having owned several businesses in his life. He owned and operated two auto repair garages, a limousine service, a car wash, and a local smoke shop. On August 4, 2001, Donald married Cassandra J. Garrett. He was notorious for his outgoing personality, easy smile, barbecuing and best known for his incredible fashion sense. Donald was admired by so many for his devotion to his family and to God. Donald was blessed with a large and loving family. He was the Garrett family patriarch. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and made an effort to attend every family occasion. Donald was called to minister under the leadership of Elder Charles Foster at Grace Outreach Fellowship in Dayton, Ohio. Donald was devout in his discipleship; he preached when he was called upon, and ministered to those who shared similar life experiences. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Cassandra Garrett; mother, Rosa (Grant) Scott; two daughters, Amber Garrett and Sierra Nevins; four sons, Dontae Gardner, Donald L. Garrett, Donovan L. Garrett, and Devon D. Garrett; three sisters, Irene L. Alexander, Sharron J. Harris, and Tinika R. (Anthony) Humphrey; twin brother, Ronald L. Garrett; his grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and caring friends. On August 16, 2018 Donald went home to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his father Robert (Leon) Garrett, and two sons Dorian and DeAngelo Dominique Garrett. Although he is dearly missed by his loved ones, celebration takes place for the fact that he is at peace with his creator in his heavenly home. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 5370 Dayton-Liberty Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45417 with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Repass will be held at DJ's Party Room, 4919 Hoover Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45417 immediately following the burial in Jefferson View Cemetery. Final arrangements entrusted to the care of the Jerry W.
