Donald Ray Bush

Donald Ray Bush, 82, was taken home by our Lord at 1:23 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2018. He was a graduate of Middletown High School and a recipient of the Arthur Sebold Award, an annual award given to one member of each graduating class who exemplified the virtues of self-reliance. Donny received this award for working all four years as a pin setter at a bowling alley to help support his family. He was also a graduate of the University of Rio Grande. Donny was married to Bessie (Lambert) Bush for 51 years and was truly a loving husband and father. He spent the last two years of his life lovingly caring for his wife at home who had Alzheimer's Disease. Donny also stood by his wife's side to support her through breast cancer. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and flew classified surveillance missions over China. Donny also served at a secret installation monitoring the progress of the Soviet Nuclear Weapons Program and received the Good Conduct Medal. Donny leaves to cherish his memory one son, Robert (Bob) Bush; two brothers, David Bush of Washington Court House and Danny Bush of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Brenda Sherman of Dayton, Ohio. He was dearly loved by numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Sherry Applin (BlueGreen Home Health Care) for going beyond the call in caring for the Bush family. Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in Dayton National Cemetery. Final arrangements entrusted to the care of the Jerry W. Kinley Funeral Home.
