Douglas Franklin Coleman, 75, passed away Monday, August 17, 2020. He was born to the union of Edward Henry Coleman, Sr. and Ruthie Jane Coleman on August 12, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio the fourth son and baby boy of six. He accepted Christ at a young age at Antioch Baptist Church and was active in youth programs. Douglas attended Washburn Elementary and Withrow High School. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and photography—a hobby learned and picked up from his late father, which he used as a service at Christ Emmanuel Church. Douglas was previously married and to that union was born: Rochelle Madaris, Julia Coleman and Leah Anderson. On July 20, 2007, Douglas was joined in marriage to Lillie Stewart and gained two children: Cynthia Torrey and Kevin Stewart. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife, Lillie B. Coleman; two sisters, LeVerne Thomas and Denise Pullens; eight children: Edwind Cook, Regina Frazier, Rochelle Madaris, Julia Coleman, Lamont Houston (Michaela Renee), Leah Anderson (Philip, Sr.), Jamel Stallworth, and Tenika “Nikki” Solomon; nine additional children: Lena Burnett, Keya Coleman, Robert Houston (Tasha), Mildred Houston-Ray, Tanya Houston-Anthony, Michael Solomon, Sr., Kevin Stewart, Desean Smith, and Cynthia Torrey (Donald); and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Douglas was preceded in death by his father, Edward H. Coleman, Sr.; mother, Ruthie J. Coleman; and three brothers: Edward H. Coleman, Jr., Theodore Coleman and Rufus T. Coleman. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Zion Baptist Church, 630 Glenwood Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229. NOTE: Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Ohio Governor and our city officials have set guidelines and procedures to follow during public gatherings of funeral services. These restrictions have been arranged with the family. Please allow the family to have their private time during the services being held at 12:00 p.m. A larger gathering may be held at a future date (to be announced) at the discretion of the family.
