Edward E. Williams, Sr.

Edward E. Williams, Sr., 65, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020. He was born May 7, 1954 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Elwood E. and Mamie L. (Walker) Williams. He was the start of The Williams 7 and the last one to earn his wings. Edward also served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He leaves to cherish his memory: sons, Edward (Carrie) Williams, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, Ray (Nashira) Williams of Springfield, Ohio, Christopher (Teresa) McWhorter of Springfield, Ohio; his baby girl, Melanie Williams of St. Paul, Minnesota; special nephew, Daront Williams of Springfield, Ohio; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; former wife, Cheryl Powers; stepson, Brandon Frazier; three step-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Hodo-Williams of Stone Mountain, Georgia; uncle, Charles Walker; aunts, Odessa Larkins, Willa Garrison, and Rose Walker; and a host of other family and friends. Edward was preceded in death by both parents; wife, Doris L. (McWhorter) Williams; brothers, Jerome, Charles, LeRoy, Raymond, and Nate; and only sister, Donna Kaye. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1171 S. Yellow Springs St, Springfield, Ohio 45506.
