Elbert L. Hardiman, Sr., 80, of Springfield, Ohio was called for his reward on Friday, September 4, 2020. He was born in Princeton, Indiana on February 20, 1940 to Ellis L. Hardiman, Sr. and Naomi (Lyles) Hardiman. His parents moved to Springfield, Ohio when he was a teenager. Elbert graduated from Springfield High School and immediately began his journey with International Harvester/Navistar. He was employed with them for 42 years. Elbert met Brenda J. Clements at Springfield High School and later married her at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on December 29, 1962. He joined Mt. Zion and became a faithful member of the Trustees and later named Chairman of the Trustee Board. Elbert leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Brenda; two children, Ellen (Terry) Hardiman-Hodges of Cleveland, Ohio and E. LaMont (Shawnya) Hardiman of Pickerington, Ohio; six grandchildren: Tamira Hodges of Cleveland, Ohio, Evan L. Hardiman of Chicago, Illinois, Mikaela Hardiman of Chicago, Illinois, Ellari Hodges of Cleveland, Ohio, Ethan J. Hardiman of Chicago, Illinois, and Elyse L. Hardiman of Pickerington, Ohio; three sisters: Myrna Embry, Trudy Tillman and Shelia (Mike) Dixon all of Springfield, Ohio; one brother, Ellis (Kyra) Hardiman, Jr. of Springfield, Ohio; brother-in-law's, James Clements of Seattle, Washington and Allan Clements of Southfield, Michigan; sister-in-law, Suzanna (Robbie) Brookins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A private funeral service will be held by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the care of KINLEY Funeral Home.
