Ethel Lee Walker-Carter, 69, of Springfield, Ohio transitioned on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Oakwood Village. She was born February 15, 1951 in Springfield, Ohio to Robert Walker, Sr. and Mattie Bell (Stembridge) Walker. She leaves to cherish her memory: brother, Jackie Walker of Springfield, Ohio; her one and only sister who she affectionately called "sissy", Constance Marie Walker-Webster; four children—son, George Allen Walker (Chamera) of Huber Heights, Ohio; daughter, Devona Marie Muhammad (Kenny) of Springfield, Ohio; son, Garrett Jermel Carter (Stephanie) of London, Ohio; daughter, Kandice Nekeya Clark (Eric) of Springfield, Ohio; special niece, Leanna Balogun; nephew, Ricky Phillips; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; best friend, Lizzy Rivers, and longtime friend, Shawn Smith-Patton; special cousin, Bev. Crossley; cousin and friend, Irene Gray; special friend & companion, Tyree Campbell; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ethel was preceded in death by her father, Robert Walker, Sr.; mother, Mattie Walker; brother, Robert Walker, Jr.; grandson, George Allen Walker, Jr.; grandson, Saalim Aamir Muhammad; and great-grandson, Sincere Boynton. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at El Bethel Temple, 2049 Clifton Ave, Springfield, Ohio 45505. Burial: Ferncliff Cemetery. The repass will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. NOTE: Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Ohio Governor and our city officials have set guidelines and procedures to follow during public gatherings of funeral services. These restrictions have been arranged with the family. Please allow the family to have their private time during the services being held at 1:00 p.m. A larger gathering may be held at a future date (to be announced) at the discretion of the family.
