Etta Gay Tucker Holtz, 74, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021. She was born June 16, 1946 in Sparta, Georgia, a daughter of E.C. Tucker and Lucy (Barnes) Tucker. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and was employed as a Horticulturist at Clark State Community College. Etta enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and planting flowers throughout the City of Springfield. She loved entertaining people, dancing, family reunions, and watching the Cincinnati Bengals and The Ohio State University Buckeyes football teams. Etta leaves to cherish her memory: a loving daughter, Valerie Holtz; son, James "JJ" Holtz (Eugenia Adams); sisters, Martha Crockran of Springfield, Mary Jackson of Detroit, Michigan, Julia Barber of Detroit, Michigan, and Lucy Higginbotham of Dayton, Ohio; brother, Jerry "Bo" Tucker (Joy); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Edward Charles Tucker and Willie Lee Tucker. A walk-through visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Please allow the immediate family their private time during the service held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021 in Zion Hill Baptist Church, 1010 Dibert Ave, Springfield, Ohio 45506.
