George Douglas Davis, 79, of Springfield, Ohio was called home on Saturday, April 1, 2023. He was born in Alcoa, Tennessee on May 27, 1943, a son of James and Opal (Brown) Davis.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. George was a faithful member of Greater First Baptist Church where he enjoyed worshipping with family and friends. Often addressed by the nickname Radar, you could find him in his teenage years playing for South High Schools basketball team or fishing.
George is survived in love by his daughters, Kim Price, Leann Dunn, Diane Taylor, and Dorothy Yates; three sisters, Joyce Rhodes, Poma (G.T. Edwards) Davis, and Sandra Davis, all of Springfield, Ohio; two brothers, Darnell (Lisa) Davis of Springfield, Ohio, and Ronald (Felicia) Davis of Peoria, Arizona; 12 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; special cousins, Eleanor and Homer Roberts; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Opal Davis; son, Guy Wilson; brother, Joseph Leroy Davis; sister, Janice Woods; and his beloved wife, Janet Davis.
Memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Greater First Baptist Church, 1175 Upper Valley Pike, Springfield, Ohio 45504.
