Gregory S. Lindsey

September 11, 1953 — January 24, 2022

Gregory Samuel Lindsey was born on September 11, 1953 to the union of William and Elmira Lindsey. He was the youngest of seven. Gregory was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where he attended Taft Elementary and graduated from Hughes High School. After graduation, he continued his education at the University of Central State, where he was awarded a scholarship for baseball. While there he played Minor League Baseball and found himself embarking on the canvas of a boxing ring. He was a man of many talents. Gregory also faced many obstacles. Despite the wiles of life, he lived on his own terms. Gregory conquered his greatest fight on January 23, 2022 at 11:58 p.m. He heard the 10-second bell and he gave it his best. When the bell rung, he went to his corner and in that corner, he was met by a cheering crowd. He Won! He defeated all odds and the story ended differently than others thought it would. Gregory leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Gregory L. (Dannon) Gaither, Diondre’ Solomon, Tina Figgs, Geaneea (Johnny) Lindsey-Lawson, Gregory Lindsey, and William Harris; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, William Lindsey; last surviving uncle, Clarence King; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elmira Lindsey; brother, Larry Lindsey; sisters, Deborah Ann Davis and Dorothy Dot Lindsey; and grandson, Dior Greigh Gaither. Arrangements entrusted to KINLEY Funeral Home and Arrangement Center.
