Hassan A. Rasheed

February 27, 1950 — May 24, 2022

PEACEFUL RISING… HASSAN ABDUL SALAAM RASHEED was born on February 27, 1950, united with his parents, Ruth Lottie Bell, and Early Larkins in Montgomery Alabama. On May 24th, 2022, The CREATOR called Hassan to The MotherLand at 4:17 pm. He was 72 years old. HASSAN was a Charismatic Warrior, who was a son, brother, Father, nephew, uncle, and a friend to many who described himself as a small god of “THE CREATOR.” He learned at an early age that he was a unique individual who did not settle for crumbs as he pursued his dream to be a successful entrepreneur. HASSAN was a graduate of Hughes High School in 1968. He was very well-liked and captivated the attention of his classmates. HASSAN became self-employed as an entrepreneur. He was creative in exploring many opportunities to build capital. He planned, built, and prospered to become a small business owner and created a clothing line, and later opened a grocery store and named it USAA PEACE in the Mt. Auburn Community where he grew up. Hassan was also a health-conscious person and believed that one should eat to live, and not live to eat to maintain health and wellness. Natural food was his forte, and he was committed to live a healthy lifestyle. He grew his own fruits and vegetables, and loved to eat greens, beans, and nuts, he only drank alkaline water that purified his body. HASSAN was against eating any type of animal but enjoyed eating certain types of fish. HASSAN’S father often cooked a pot of greens that was to his taste. HASSAN passionately spoke about his parents cooking his specialty. He was a man who did not compromise eating healthy. HASSAN was a self-educator, motivator, and an inspirational teacher. He was a vivid learner to gain and shared knowledge of “The Holy Quran” with his family members and friends. The Holy Quran empowered him to discover the TRUTH of THE CREATOR’S purpose for his life. He applied his life strategically as a chess player because he understood that each piece was a position on the board. HASSAN was a visionary with big dreams to leave a legacy for his children. HASSAN read many other nonfiction books to increase his knowledge. KNOWLEDGE was POWER, and his search for truth gave him infinite wisdom that led him to live a life of truth and dare. HASSAN further educated himself, to show himself worthy to become a resourceful person to others by teaching and spreading good news of The Quran. HASSAN later captivated the hearts and minds of people and was a man of substance. While on his journey, HASSAN planted 19 seeds to the women he loved. Each child was shaped and molded to “THE CREATOR’S” image, formed to become beautiful Kings and Queens. He was a family man and a father who ADORED his CHILDREN. HASSAN's greatest desire for them was that they pursue higher education and become successful entrepreneurs. He knew each child was gifted and nurtured them to tap into their SPIRITUAL GIFTS for them to be a conqueror. It was HASSAN’S faith in “THE CREATOR” that gave him hope and love to establish capital gains to be prosperous that would reign over the legacy of his children. His determination was that his children actively maximize their potential to manifest their future. HASSAN's ultimate dream was about leaving a legacy of wealth and becoming ownership of businesses and land with unlimited resources. After two decades of triumph, Hassan discovered the new man in himself; his HOPE was RESTORATION and UNITY with his family; nothing less than to land on the Solid Rock of THE CREATOR through further guidance that gave him strength and courage to face the world. It was then, HASSAN challenges struck him at the core and pierced his heart… Unfortunately, a loved child, a son, Hassan Ishmael Rasheed was robbed of his future. (May he Rest in Paradise)! Even though HASSAN was shattered with grief, he vowed to return to his family for a new beginning. He loved his children with all his heart. HASSAN was a father who nurtured and educated them how to survive. He did his best to provide for them. HASSAN's only regret was he was not available to them as he would have liked. HASSAN was a good man and a good father, and pure at heart. HASSAN was pleased with THE CREATOR, who show him, “Grace and Mercy,” whereas he maintained his acceptance, with dignity, integrity, in faith, hope, honor, and respect to love and cherish those he impacted the lives he touched. FROM THE WORDS OF YOUR FATHER… To…Lachelle Lowe, Niamalika Taylor, Eddrick Tompkins, Dave Richardson, Kenyatta Stewart, Qadirah Rasheed, Jalil Rasheed, Rashad Rasheed, Khayri Rasheed, Sharif Rasheed, Safiyyah Rasheed, Aja Rasheed, Mariyam Rasheed, Makin Rasheed, Khalil Rasheed, Amani Rasheed, Tahirah Rasheed, and Jihad Rasheed, Baron Brown, and Jenisee’ Long…FORGIVE ME for not giving 100% of myself as a father, KNOW, that I have ALWAYS LOVED YOU, from the day you were conceived. Regardless of our indifferences, always remember, that I wanted to gain PROSPERITY for you, more than I wanted it for myself. You may not have agreed with decisions I made through my journey, but I have always wanted the BEST for you to EXCEL and SUCCEED. It is not too late for you to maximize your potential. If you REMEMBER the words I shared, to GIVE, and expect nothing in return, LIFT UP OTHERS, as you show GRACE and MERCY for your PEACE that will pass all understanding. Do not dwell in the past, for it will keep you bound, look forward to your future, and FOCUS on the endeavors of your life so that you can leave a legacy for your children’s children. There are POWER IN WORDS, be careful how you use them. BE RESILIENT, LEAD IN POWER that THE CREATOR gave you, fight against principalities, and more importantly, SHOW AGAPE LOVE, (LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY). PEACE WITH LOVE. A SPECIAL THANKS to my sister, and BEST FRIEND, LUCY DIXON aka GAIL, for loving, caring, and providing the resources, so that I would survive. I LOVE YOU for never giving up on me… TO My BROTHER RASHAD RASHEED, thank you for your unconditional love; since We were kids, you have always stood by me as “MY BROTHER’S KEEPER.” Remember, my love for you is beyond measure. TO THE REST OF MY SIBLINGS, Betty Cawthon, Gloria Larkins, William Dixon, and Bobby Dixon, I leave you to Cherish Memories of ME, I love you with all my heart… TO MY BROTHER from another MOTHER… JERRY ISHAM, thank you for being a true friend. There are many words that describe how I appreciate our friendship. You never let me down; continue to soar and love your family unconditionally. TO ALL OF MY FAMILIES, NEAR and FAR, I left this earth as “THE CREATOR” assigned, but may my SPIRIT RISE with you in LOVE. CHERISH each day that OUR FATHER, THE CREATOR gives you! Your choice to live on is up to you! Do not waste time dwelling on the past, BUT LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST IN PEACE.
