Howard Fisher

June 3, 1943 — December 8, 2018

Howard Eugene Fisher, Sr. was born in Columbia, Missouri June 3, 1943 to the late Lillie Mae Fisher (Robinson) and the late Raymond Linzie. On Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 4:21 p.m. he made transition from this worldly life to his eternal life at the age of 75. Howard was his mother's only son and one of ten out of his fathers children. He was raised in New Haven, Connecticut with Paul Harris who was a father to him and taught him everything he knew to survive. He took care of Paul until he died, then he moved back to Missouri with his favorite aunts and grandmother briefly. He missed his mother and ended up moving back to Cincinnati in his teen years. He was raised in Catholic and Holiness churches. He baptized his own mother at 18 years old. Howard attended William Howard Taft High School. He played football briefly and he did his singing outside of that. While at Taft, he met his best friend, Frank Walker, Sr. and from there they were inseparable. They had a music group that consisted of him, Frank, Phelps also known as Catfish, and others. Howard and Frank attended Pastor Carters church. When Pastor Carter passed, Frank became the pastor and Howard was his deacon. Howard got married at a young age to Geraldine for 18 years and out of that union they had 10 children: Howard Fisher, Jr., Diane Barwick (Richard), Deborah Fisher, Stephanie Garrett-Black (Jonathan), Brian Fisher (Cheryl), Natalie Fisher, Shawn Fisher, Christopher Fisher (Felicia), Angel Fisher, and Lillia (Mouse) Fisher Diatta (Nfamara). He was a family man, funny, loved to talk, fish, play music, cook, and sing. He had many talents. Howard was definitely a man of many trades. He always said 'be the head not the tail.' He could take apart and build any and everything, especially cars. He started with commercial vehicles at CAT and John Deere, then he went on to being able to fix every kind of vehicle. He was in a CB Club and he had his CB name Doghouse, because we all know he was a dog man. There was nothing he couldn't do. He was a deacon, an amazing cook, a fisher, hunter, mechanic, dog whisperer, a friend, and above all he was a great husband and father. Howard accomplished a lot and touched so many hearts with his smile and good heart. He is a retired employee of General Motors for almost 20 years. While working there he met his second wife of 26 years, Lola Fisher, until she passed of bone cancer in 2005. The children from this marriage Rodney Holmes, Johnny Mills, Theresa Mills, Tony Taylor, Charles Taylor, Sheila Taylor, Tracy Suggs, Frederick Suggs, and the baby girl of them all, Crystal Wheeler (Reginald). He has two additional children, Tony and Vanessa. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lola Fisher; his mother, Lillie Mae Robinson; his father(s), Paul Harris, Raymond Linzie, and stepfather, Donald Robinson. Here to cherish his memory many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with a host of loving family and friends. Howard means high guardian or brave heart and you were both Dad. I will always love you. Love, your baby, Crystal. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 in Progressive Baptist Church, 613 Prospect Place, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229 with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
