Jacquelyn T. May-Brown, 65, of Phoenix, AZ went home to be the Lord on Sunday, May 21, 2023. She was born September 30, 1957, in Springfield, Ohio, a daughter of James and Gertrude (Ward) May.


Jacquelyn was a graduate of Springfield South High School in 1975, received an Associate of Arts and Science degree from Southwestern Illinois College and was certified as a Sign Language Interpreter. She served as Associate Pastor of New Generation Center of Praise in Phoenix, Arizona under the leadership of Pastor Alvin Coleman and worked as the Administrative Assistant of the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation in East St. Louis, Illinois. She enjoyed doing her Saturday, Facebook Live broadcast service, I AM SENT.


Elder Brown leaves to mourn her passing: a daughter, Felicia Brown (Tarkus Ferguson); grandchildren, Keilah Brown-McGee, Anaiah Brown, and Malachi Brown; brother, Gerald (Rose) May; sisters, Alysia (Robert) Phelps of Springfield, Ohio, Gertrude (May) Zite, Linda (May) Bey, and Josephine (May) Williams all of Columbus, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, special friend, Marchelle Thomas, and many friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jerome May, Lorenzo May, James May, Jr., and Andy May; and sister, Genevieve May.


Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Church of Hope, 1353 W Perrin Ave, Springfield, Ohio 45506. Interment: Sunset Garden of Memory, 3230 Cemetery Rd, Millstadt, IL 62260.
