Joseph Henry Soles, 72, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He was born July 5, 1946 in Springfield, Ohio to Leander and Laura Soles, Sr. Joe loved boxing, working out, and was a big sports fan. He was known by many as a man full of strength. Joes loving memory will be cherished by his two sons, Allen Smith and Kenny; seven grandchildren, Lakoja Smith, Kenny Smith, Jr., Kam'aire Smith, Jania Smith, Damar Smith, Allen Smith, Jr., and Amyla Smith, all from Dayton, Ohio; one brother, Robert Soles, Sr. of Springfield, Ohio; four sisters, Mary Muhammad and Ora Yates of Dayton, Ohio, Annice Soles and Marguree Howard of Springfield, Ohio; special friend, Beverly Smith of Dayton, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leander and Laura Soles, Sr.; brothers, Leander Soles, Jr. and Elbert Soles; sisters, Nancy White and Annie Walton. The family would like to thank all the Doctors and Nurses at Miami Valley Hospital who provided excellent care. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Springfield, Ohio with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Services entrusted to the Jerry W. Kinley Funeral Home.
