Joyce Aleta Beavers, 79, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2024. She was born in Columbus on December 24, 1944.


She lived most of her life in Columbus, Ohio and settled in Dayton, Ohio. Joyce dedicated her life to Christianity. She graduated from Payne Theological Seminary in Wiberforce, Ohio with a Masters of Divinity in 2007. Joyce was the epitome of grace and strength standing by the side of her husband, Nathan Beavers, Jr., serving as First Lady of Faith Baptist Church in Springfield, Ohio. She was an active member of the Ohio Association of Ministers Wives and Ministers Widows. Joyce was a successful florist taking after her mother-in-law and thrived with beautiful arrangements and masterpieces. During her retirement, Joyce spent her time babysitting her grandchildren, shopping, eating her favorite desserts, and celebrating all her favorite holidays.


Joyce leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Joleta Parker and Marlisse Hardamon; grandchildren: Joshua Neal, David Hardamon, Devona Hardamon, Styles Hardamon, Jasmine Parker, Demetrius Hardamon, and Solomon Hardamon; great-grandchildren: Luna Hardamon, Austin Neal, Alex Neal, and Lauren Neal; and a host of family and friends.


She was preceded in death by James McCollum and William Camp.


Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Greater First Baptist Church, 1175 Upper Valley Pike, Springfield, Ohio 45504.
