Julius F. Layne

Julius F. Layne, 76, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Monday, October 11, 2021 at his residence. He was born December 8, 1944 the son of the Burlin and Ada May Layne of Logan, West Virginia. He was an UMWA member and drove delivery for the US Xpress trucking company for over 20 years. Julius loved spending time with his family and grandkids. He also enjoyed fishing, taking mountain trips with his wife, and watching westerns. Julius lived a simple and happy life, he was always very kind, and happy to help out anyone in need. Julius leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 22 years, Linda “Patty” Layne; three daughters, Julie (Russ) Shively of Amboy Indiana, Toni Lynn Layne of Naples, Florida, and Jenelle (Scott) Pry of Gahanna, Ohio; one son, Kevin Adkins of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; grandchildren: Tila Layne, Cody (Kristin) Layne, Steven Shively, Austin (Kaylee) Shively, Victoria Courtney, Sarah (Robbie) Cartwright, Shelby Adkins, Emma Adkins, Chase Pry, and Blake Broderick; great-grandchildren: Savaya Shively, Carter Shively, Gracie Ingel, Briley Ingel, Seth Cartwright, Amiya Courtney, and Trey Mauldon; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the discretion of the family.
