Kelsey L. Stowers, Sr.

Kelsey Lamont Stowers, Sr., 61, of Columbus, Ohio passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in his residence. He was born December 3, 1962, in Tiffin, Ohio a son of Curtis Jones, Sr. and Beverly Ann Barfield.

Family Comments: Kelsey was not only a sponsor (sober person offering new suggestions on recovery) he was also a brother and true friend. God brought him into my life exactly when I needed him. He taught me how to be accountable for my own actions and choices. Kelsey was the realest of the real. He always told everyone what they needed to hear and not what they wanted to hear. Kelsey was the glue that held Cocaine Anonymous together for many years. He was the go-to man for whatever needed to be done, not only for this fellowship, but our community as well. His favorite passage from the big book was “faced with alcoholic destruction, we soon became open to spiritual matters as we had been on other questions. In this respect alcohol was a great persuader, it finally beat us into a state of reasonableness." Kelsey you will always be missed, but never forgotten. Love you always.

Kelsey leaves to cherish his memory: children, Kelsey Stowers, Jr., Jennifer Wallace, and Ja-Lynn Stowers; mother, Beverly Ann Barfield; and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Jones, Sr.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024 in the Kinley Funeral Home Chapel, 1307 East High Street, Springfield, Ohio 45505.
