Larry Tillman, Jr. was born in Huntsville, Alabama on May 2, 1938 to the late Larry Sr. and Martha Hardin-Tillman. Mr. Tillman transitioned peacefully at his home on October 2, 2017. Larry leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Trudy Hardiman-Tillman, two children, LaMar (Linda) Tillman of Huber Heights, Ohio and Trudi E. Tillman of Springfield, one grandson, LaMar Tillman of Los Angeles, California; one Uncle, Lollace (Susan) Tillman of Springfield, Ohio and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. When he married, Trudy he embraced her brothers and sisters as his own. Larry's devotion to his family was evident by his continual support and presence in all they did! Larry's parents moved to Springfield when he was a young child. He graduated from Springfield High School. He immediately began a career at Navistar where he was employed for 45 years. As a child Larry attended St. John Missionary Baptist Church until his marriage to Trudy in 1964. He then joined and remained a faithful member of Wiley, which changed to Covenant United Methodist Church. Larry served as an Usher, a member of the Male Chorus and the Willing Workers. Larry was an avid sports fan, who faithfully supported the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Cavaliers, even if they won or lost. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, October 9, 2017 at Covenant United Methodist Church in Springfield, Ohio with visitation two hours prior to service. Arrangements by Jerry W.
