Leonard K. Robinson

Leonard K. Robinson, 67, of Cincinnati, Ohio was called home to be with his mother in Heaven on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at 10:01 p.m. He was born December 11, 1952 to Kayzo Robinson and Rebecca (Washington) Montgomery in Cincinnati, Ohio where he lived his entire life. He lived in Evanston up until his early adult years. Leonard graduated from Withrow High School and later attended Ohio Broadcasting school where he graduated with a Radio Broadcasting degree. Leonard worked at Hilton Davis Plant, right after graduating high school, for fourteen years as a Chemist and then worked for Fernald Plant producing Uranium for U.S. nuclear weapons. He retired from Fernald Plant after 25 years of service as a Chemical Operator. Anyone that knew Leonard knew that he loved his family and was a great father and grandfather. At any family gathering frying fish for them was something he enjoyed doing. Leonard had a passion for music. Jazz was one of his favorite selections. Leonard was a Music DJ for many years at various Lounges around the city. He also loved cars, he practically had a new one every three years. He enjoyed traveling. Leonard was very stylish with his signature printed shirts, fedora hats and pointed toe shoes. He had Swag! Leonard was laid-back, a people person, honest and didn’t like confrontation, but he never hesitated to let you know when you messed up. Leonard leaves to cherish his memory: His Soulmate and loving life partner of 26 years, Gertrude (Trudy) Elliott; two sisters, Patricia Montgomery and Elaine (Mike) Wilson; four children, Shaconda (Darrell) Wilson, Lorenzo Robinson, Orlando (Tamiko) Robinson, and Shalona (Richard) Scurry; thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Montgomery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2020 at James Temple Annex, 1119 Lincoln Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45206. Interment will be held in the Vine Street Hill Cemetery. NOTE: Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Ohio Governor and our city officials have set guidelines and procedures to follow during public gatherings of funeral services. These restrictions have been arranged with the family. Please allow the family to have their private time during the services being held at 12:00 p.m. A larger gathering may be held at a future date (to be announced) at the discretion of the family.
