Leslie Lashall Lawson, 50, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020. She was born on September 23, 1969 in Springfield, Ohio to Ethel "Shorty" Gaston and Willie Beavers. She was married to her husband, Everett D. Lawson, for 29 years. Leslie attended Springfield South High School and graduated in 1987. She entered the United States Army in 1988 and served until 1995. Leslie graduated from Beckfield Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Technology on April 23, 2016. She loved to read, taking walks and eating. Spending time with her family brought much joy and peace to her life. She cherished her children and grandchildren (along with her partner Bella). When you would see Leslie, she was sure to be singing, laughing, dancing and relaxing with her “pinner”, her husband Everett, right by her side. Leslie had a heart of gold and she was blessed with a helping spirit. Leslie leaves to cherish her memory: children, Jazmin (Lance) Lawson, Jamal Lawson and Tyree Gaston; stepchildren, Heather (June) Foster, Ashley Jones, Whitney and Brittany Speakes; grandchildren, Isaiah, Jordin, Marte’, Malachi, Josiah, Malaysia, Izehra, Semaj, Stephan, Jael, Amelia, and Ezariah; siblings, Bernard Gaston, Bonita (David) Beachum, Lacretia Gaston, LaToya Gaston, Karl Gaston, Willie Beavers, Jr., Montina Beavers, Maurice Beavers, Brandi (David) Smoot, Sequinda Figorea, Dougie (Angie) Owens, Brandie Owens, Candance Owens, and Dominique Stinnett; very special friends, Shawnette Walker and Tracey Mahood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Everett D. Lawson, Jr.; and grandparents, Ethel "Lee" Gaston and Joe Gaston. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2020 at El Bethel Temple, 2049 Clifton Ave, Springfield, Ohio 45505. NOTE: Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Ohio Governor and our city officials have set guidelines and procedures to follow during public gatherings of funeral services. These restrictions have been arranged with the family. Please allow the family to have their private time during the services being held at 11:00 a.m. A larger gathering may be held at a future date (to be announced) at the discretion of the family.
