Lorene Simms

Lorene Simms, 89, of Springfield, Ohio was called home on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Oakwood Village in Springfield from a lengthy illness. She was born December 25, 1932 in Ameagle, West Virginia to Robert Lee Prince and Mattie Clinton Prince.

Lorene leaves to cherish her memory: her loving family -- two sons, Dean Simms, Sr. and Gary Simms; daughter, Valerie Knight of Springfield, Ohio; granddaughter, Ellen Simms of New York City, New York; grandsons, Dean Simms, Jr. of New York City and David Knight of Washington D.C.; three great-grandchildren, Micayla Simms, Mia Simms of New York City, and David Knight the 3rd of Washington D.C.; special nephew, Dr. Timothy Marshall of South Boston, Virginia; sister-in-law, Carol Simms Fields of Detroit, Michigan; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Nathaniel Simms; husband, Billie Lee Simms; sisters, Bobbie Wilson and Josephine Marshall of South Boston, Virginia; brothers, Jackie Prince of San Bernardino, California, and Sylvester Prince of Augusta, Georgia.

There will be a Celebration of Life and Love given in her honor from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on September 24, 2022 at The "L", 1530 S. Yellow Springs St., Springfield, Ohio 45506.
