Marsha E. Lewis

Marsha Elizabeth Lewis, 69, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, February 29, 2024. She was born September 4, 1954, the oldest of six children born to Karyl J. Hawkins and Leroy E. Lewis, Sr. in St. Clairesville, Ohio.

She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, aunt, and great-aunt. Marsha was known for her kind and compassionate nature, always putting others before herself. She had a passion for gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family. Marsha was hardworking and a devoted woman; once she committed to something, she had to see it through. She worked at Meijer for many years before retiring. Marsha also was an employee of Assurant for several years before finding employment with RiteAid Pharmacy and Springfield City Schools. Through her employment journey, Marsha made many forever friends along the way.

Marsha leaves to cherish her memory: her only son, Jamey Lewis; granddaughter whom she raised as her own, Shi’La Rhodes; two brothers, Leroy E. (Rita) Lewis, Jr., and Joseph P. (Karen) Lewis; five other grandchildren: Joshua McKinley, Sydney and Madison Haas, Mikiyah Humphrey, and Jayce Lewis; three great-grandchildren, Nariyah Muwwakkil, Sevynn Davis, and Apollo Haas, all of Springfield, Ohio; her daughters “in love”, Jessica Haas and Ceara Mebane; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins who loved her dearly, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Laroilyn Lewis-Byrd, Vicki Lewis-Crowe, and Belinda Lewis-Metcalf; and a special grandmother, Leadria Lewis.

Marsha will be missed deeply by all who knew her. Her memory will live on through the hearts of her beloved family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024 in the Kinley Funeral Home Chapel, 1307 East High Street, Springfield, Ohio 45505. Repass to follow: 1935 S. Yellow Springs Str., Springfield, Ohio 45506.
