Marvetta L. Johnson

Marvetta Lynn Johnson, 61, of Springfield, Ohio was called to glory on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 1:54 a.m. at Southbrook Nursing Home. She was born on December 30, 1962 to Lee Etta Bailum and Marvin Johnson the third of five children.

Lynn was loved by many and she was a fighter. She faced her fears and gained her wings. Lynn is home now and her spirit is free—just how she lived life. She was a beautiful person inside and out, but make her angry and she would let you have it no doubt. Lynn always seemed to show up at just the right time. With all of her imperfections, she was perfect to us. She was ours.

Lynn leaves to cherish in her memory: mother, Lee Etta Bailum; significant other, Franklin Ellison; children, Angela, Jajuana, Terry, and Kailes; 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews; son-in-law, Bruce Davis; bonus son, Titus Perkins; two special daughters, Monique and Tajia; brothers, Edward (Dana), Anthony (Linda), Michael (Sophia), and Jerome; sister, Nichole (Steve); special granddaughter, Tianna; special friend-sisters, Tracey Stinnett, and Cordia Stephens; special niece, Erica Kelley; and many cousins and friends. A special thank you to Jeremy for helping me care for our mom.

She was preceded in death by her son, Cailus Parks, Jr.; her fathers, Gary Bailum, and Marvin Johnson; her grandparents, Mary Stone Cooper, and Kitty Johnson; uncle, William Stone; cousin, Melissa Stone; and sister, Cheryl (Punkin Deel) Wilkerson.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 1010 Dibert Ave, Springfield, Ohio 45506. Interment: Ferncliff Cemetery.
