He became a mentor and lifelong friend to hundreds of students over the years. They often share stories of how he helped them through hard times, tough classes and motivated them to go on to college and pursue their dreams. Aside from teaching, Michael was incredibly passionate about coaching and was inducted into the Springfield High School Hall of Fame in 2019. He coached basketball, track and tennis. He was the head basketball coach at Clark State Community College and coached numerous basketball camps at The Ohio State University. Michael was a faithful servant to the Lord and was a Deacon and Ordained Minister at Greater Grace Temple. He served on the State Board of Epiphany Ministries as a clergyman to incarcerated youth. He was an amazing man, always offering so much wisdom and great advice. Michael was full of love, jokes and laughter and his sense of humor will forever be in our hearts. He was one of the most loving, reliable, and dependable people you’d ever meet.
