Michael William Glass, Sr.

Michael William, Glass, Sr., 56, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019. He was born on November 28, 1962 in Xenia, Ohio to Jerome Glass, Sr. and Carolyn (Channels) Glass. He attended Xenia High School and transferred to Greene Joint Vocational School as a junior where he majored in Auto Mechanics. Michael (Mike) had a love and zest for life, he never met a stranger and was a friend to many. He had a laugh that was recognizable by all, and was never without a kind word and a smile. Mike was a workaholic, a consummate jokester; he loved to cook and was great at it. Yet, he loved nothing better than a cold beer and game of cards. But most of all, Mike loved his Mom and helping her make those huge family meals possible with laughter and a smile on his face, looking forward to being surrounded by family and friends. Michael is survived by his children, Tamiko (Tawan) Bailey, Michael Glass, Jr., Lashawnda Lane, Joshua Glass, Mykeals Page, and Antwan Glass; parents, Carolyn (Melvin) Hardnick; brothers, Jerome (Carmella) Glass, Jr. and Victor (Isha) Glass; sisters, Marsha Glass, Monique (Greg) Slaughter, and Cathy (Chavez) Lyons; and a host of loving nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome (Skeet) Glass, Sr.; brother, Robert Glass; nephew, SSGT Jonathan Glass; and both maternal and paternal grandparents. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 in the Greater Work Christian Assembly, 1704 Sunset Ave, Springfield, Ohio 45505 with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
