Millard Michael Dixon, Sr.

Millard Michael “Mike” Dixon, Sr., 76, of Springfield, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 due to complications of COVID-19. He was born November 8, 1944 to the union of Lee and Virginia Dixon. He was a 26 year Army veteran, a proud member of the Masonic Order, a Shriner, a member of the Tuskeegee Airmen Ohio Memorial Chapter, former president of Strivers, and a participant of many other organizations during his lifetime. Mike knew no strangers and was beloved by many. He always put his family first and was loved and respected by everyone who ever met him. Mike leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Sheila (Hardiman); sisters, Charlene and Francis; sons, Thomas Dwayne McWhorter and Millard Michael Dixon, Jr. (mother, Gloria Dixon); stepson, Kyle Davis; special daughter, Laytoya Herring; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Dixon; mother, Virginia Dixon (Rice); brothers, Richard, Lloyd, and Benjamin Dixon; sisters, Maxine and Patricia Anne; son, Thomas; daughter, Virginia; and stepdaughter, Cara (Robinson). A walk through visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The family will have a private service beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021 in the Kinley Funeral Home Chapel, 1307 East High St, Springfield, Ohio 45505.
