Nelson D. Teasley, 70, completed his Earthly journey and claimed his heavenly victory, as he went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 20, 2020. Nelson was born September 10, 1949 in Royston, Georgia to the late Mr. Arthur and Beatrice (Teasley) Truss, Sr. He was known for his sense of humor, jokes, and loud hearty laugh! Nelson loved serving as a Greeter at Restored Life Ministries where he was a faithful member, spending time with friends at the carwash, dining at Huffy’s or Red Lobster (only in Dayton), rooting for The Cleveland Browns, and spending time with his brothers and sisters. Nelson retired from the City of Dayton. Nelson leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Mary Bogan; daughters, Christin (Dennis) Worthington, Derek Drummond, Leslie Tillman and Nellie Davis; son, Rondric Bogan; sisters, Betty Jo (George Richard) Phillips, Josephine (Vincent) Harris, and Jeanette (Harvey) Stewart; brothers, Marty Truss, Mark Truss, and Arthur Truss, Jr.; special grandchildren, Kamiron and Narasha Bogan; aunt, Mozella (Eddie) Dubois; special cousin, Norris Pass; special nephew, Deany Kenerly, Jr.; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; close friends, Wendell Humphrey, Big Boy Darden, Larry Lash and The Lash Family; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, RLM faith family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Monnie Bogan; aunts, Minnie Mae Pass, Iva Murph and Willa Harden; nephew, Rodney E. Harris; and sisters, Catherine Kenerly and Debra Ann Powers. Memorial contributions may be made in Nelson's Honor at https://www.diabetes.org and https://www.kidney.org/donation Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2020 in the Kinley Funeral Home Chapel, 1307 East High Street, Springfield, Ohio 45505. Interment at Ferncliff Cemetery. NOTE: Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Ohio Governor and our city officials have set guidelines and procedures to follow during public gatherings of funeral services. These restrictions have been arranged with the family. Please allow the family to have their private time during the services being held at 11:00 a.m. A larger gathering may be held at a future date (to be announced) at the discretion of the family.
