Rev. Robert Allen, Jr.

Robert Allen, Jr., 61, entered into peaceful rest on Wednesday, September 2, 2020. He was born October 16, 1958 to the Union of Robert Allen, Sr. and Mary Frances Allen in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Mt. Healthy High School. While in high school, Robert coached little league football and softball teams. He loved playing sports. Robert's teammates called him “Cooley”, and he was affectionately called “June Bug” by his family and friends. He was a dedicated father and always went above and beyond for his children. Robert was a proud member of the United States Army for 15 years. He was called into the preaching ministry and was ordained as a gospel preacher at St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Evansville, Indiana. In 2006, Robert was called to Pastor at Greater Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church, until his passing. On May 19, 2018 he joined Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Robert leaves to cherish his memory: a beautiful, caring and loving wife, Mable Allen; two sons, Robert Allen III and Lamarr Allen both of Evansville, Indiana; one daughter, Mariah Allen; two stepchildren, Cameya Lattimore and Jason Stewart all of Cincinnati, Ohio; five granddaughters, Monzaiah, Stylay, Stanyrah, Symphonie, and Jordan; four grandsons, Merel, Jaden, Robert IV, and Kyuan; two step-granddaughters, Terriana and Dereka; two step-grandsons, D’Erik and Kameron; siblings, Erma Jean Allen, Mae Helen Allen, Charles “Sweet Pea” Allen (Michelle), and Beverly Allen all of Cincinnati, Ohio; Jerome “Tookie” Allen of Portland, Oregon; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; six aunts, one uncle, and one sister. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 2835 Beekman Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45225.
