Richard H. Davis

April 28, 1943 — January 29, 2022

Richard Henry Davis, 78, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022. He was born in Romulus, Michigan on April 28, 1943, the fourth child of eleven, born to Clarence and Annie Ruth Davis. He was baptized and introduced to Christ at an early age and truly believed in God to his last breath. Richard was educated in the Romulus Public School District and began his work history at the Ford Motor Company, until he found the love of truck driving. Richard took his 18 wheelers all over the United States, which he enjoyed doing. He retired after many years of service. Richard was also a force to be reckoned with as he was a Bounty Hunter. He was one you didn’t want to come looking for you. Richard also was an owner and barkeep of York Street Bar and bar kept at Babe Bakers. His love of motorcycles led him to be a founder and original member of, “The InnKeepers MC,” where he held the office of President for five years. Richard was an active member until the very end. He loved people and never met a stranger. It was nothing to have to wait on him—for too long, while he struck up a conversation with complete strangers, especially when buying scratch-offs and red bag Doritos. Richard was a GREAT FATHER and from his union with Mary Spann, his first child was born who took his name, Richard Henry Davis, Jr. To the union with Barbara Davis, came the love of his life, daughter, Kymberly Re’Londa Davis. His Kym Charlie, was the one who was always closely behind screaming, “Daddy!” Richard was a proud PawPaw to Kindra, Kacie, Kahana, Deric, and Katrina Davis; 23 great-grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Celestine Davis; brothers, Ronnie and George Stanley Davis; three sisters, Delores Yarbrough, Gwendolyn Cannedy, and Peggy (Joe) Moton; bonus children, Madison Harper, Deniece Starnes, Tikeitha Lavender, and Barbara Bishop; and 17 additional bonus grandchildren. From his union with Celestine Davis, he became a great stepfather to six daughters and 12 additional grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by five siblings: Kenneth, Lillie, Willie, Clarence, Carl “BooBoo”, and Russell “Fatman”. Arrangements entrusted to the care of KINLEY Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at 9:00 am with Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at New Friendship Baptist Church, 3212 Reading Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229. Interment Vine Street Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of KINLEY Funeral Home and Arrangement Center.
