Richard L. Watkins, Ii

Our beautiful son, Richard Lee Watkins, II., 31, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022. He was entrusted in our care on December 6, 1990, on my sister's birthday—even more special, so she thought. He was very energetic and always busy. We took Richard to the doctor, they wanted us to put him on medicine, we refused and come to find out Richard was gifted and talented and had a lot going on in his head. All of his teachers said he was doing the bare minimum. Richard was loved. He never studied for a test, he just took them. Richard would stay in class at recess to help the teacher grade papers. He was working electronics at 3 years old, watching weather reports, and putting himself to bed. Richard was very independent. He graduated from Lakota West High School and went on to college. Richard said he wasn’t learning anything, so he left. It was on from there, he moved to Texas after graduation and then to Alabama, Colorado, California, Las Vegas, and Florida. Richard always said he was going to travel the world when he grew up. He didn’t even watch tv, he said it was a waste of time. Richard lived a full life to be so young. It was nothing he couldn’t do! Richard could sing, play and could fix or make anything. He touched all lives that he encountered. Richard was a kind, giving, loving, and the smartest person I have ever met. He was a beautiful soul and a free spirit. Richard worked for himself and marched to the beat of his own drum. In his spare time, he loved to paint, go to the beach and fly his drone. Richard loved to help people with law cases and he was self-taught. He loved his family dearly! Richard leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Richard Watkins, Sr.; mother, Kimberly Shack; sister, Jayla Watkins; grandmother, Clara Shack; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
