Richard W. Trumbo, Jr.

Richard William Trumbo, Jr., 66, of Dayton, Ohio departed this life on Thursday, September 7, 2023. He was born in Springfield on January 29, 1957 to Sarah Virginia and Richard W. Trumbo, Sr.

He attended Springfield City Schools and graduated from Springfield South High School in 1975. Richard joined the Navy in 1978 and served two years. After leaving the Navy, he went to work for the Clark County Board of Mental Health and he retired from there in 2011.

On July 25, 2009, Richard married Linda G. Davis. Richard attended Philips Chapel CME and was a member of the Usher Board. He moved his membership to Greater Works Apostolic Christian where he was baptized in Jesus' name and was deacon for many years. The last church he attended was Living Well Lighthouse Church.

Richard loved taking pictures of his family and always had a camera. He loved spending time joking with his family. Richard and his brother, Brock, spent Christmas Eve sharing pizza with their mother. When all the siblings got together to send their mother on a cruise, Richard went with her and of course took pictures. He had an extensive movie collection, a comic book collection, and music collection (old albums).

Richard leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Linda G. Trumbo of Dayton, Ohio; sisters, Kathy Barrett of Dayton, Ohio and Sharri (Chester) Golson of Clayton, Ohio; brothers, Wayne (Maria) Trumbo and Brock Seibles both of Springfield, Ohio; children: Osh'ene Lee, Marina Davis, Chyna Davis, and Anthony Davis all of Dayton, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, a special cousin, Vincent Burton; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Sarah Burton; parents, Sarah Virginia Seibles, Richard Trumbo, Sr., and stepfather, John Seibles; and child, Chenille Davis.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1171 S. Yellow Springs St, Springfield, Ohio 45506. Committal will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023 in Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W Third St, Dayton, OH 45428.
